Empowering Women in Oil Spill Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Restoration
Date: Thursday, May 13, 2021
Time: 3:45 - 5:15 PM EST
In a Mckinsey Global Institute study released in 2015, the headline takeaway was that advancing women’s equality can add US$12 trillion to global growth. It’s a fact that diversity drives profitability. Join us for this inaugural interactive session at IOSC, which will focus on empowering women, beginning with a panel of leaders who will share their experience with unconscious bias, how they navigated their unique career paths, challenges they face in the current business climate, benefits of diverse teams and opportunities they identify for growth.
Their remarks will set the stage for discussion in small breakout groups, organized to explore various topics of current interest for women working in the spill community. From preparedness and research to response, restoration and recovery, panelists and participants will have an opportunity to engage on issues identified in part by your suggestions when you register for this session. The outcome of this session will shape the development of future sessions in the triennial conference series.
